Abstract: The research aims to present the main trends and directions on the cereal market in Romania so that the future prospects of the market can be identified. The cereal market in Romania is a very dynamic one, currently it is facing an increase in prices due to unfavorable agro-meteorological conditions for crops, but also the increase in the inflation index, which generated price increases for both agricultural products and inputs, fuel and irrigation water. Much lower productions were recorded in the 2020–2021 agricultural year, being a rather weak year in terms of productivity, the main cause being represented by the pedological drought that caused major damage in most agricultural areas in the country, affecting national production cereal. Even in these conditions, our country remains among the first countries in the European Union in terms of grain production and export.
