The 15^th Inter­na­tion­al Sym­po­sium “Agri­cul­ture Econ­o­my and Rur­al Devel­op­ment — Trends and Chal­lenges”

Orga­nized under the high patron­age of Acad­e­my of Agri­cul­tur­al and Forestry Sci­ences “Ghe­o­rghe Iones­cu Sis­es­ti”

      Wel­come to the 15th Edi­tion of The Inter­na­tion­al Sym­po­sium “Agrar­i­an Econ­o­my and Rur­al Devel­op­ment — Trends and Chal­lenges”, AERD-2024 Fol­low­ing the chal­leng­ing year of 2023, full of new par­a­digms and trans­for­ma­tion towards dig­i­tal era and chang­ing oppor­tu­ni­ties, AERD 2024 will be orga­nized focus­ing on the fol­low­ing hot top­ics: recov­ery, resilience and adap­ta­tion. Our aim is to bring into dis­cus­sion the cur­rent con­cerns regard­ing the smooth tran­si­tion to a more sus­tain­able pro­duc­tion and con­sump­tion across Europe, sus­tain­able devel­op­ment of agri­cul­ture and agri­cul­tur­al hold­ings in Roma­nia for increas­ing the qual­i­ty of life, while main­tain­ing the envi­ron­ment.
We there­fore invite you to share knowl­edge, expe­ri­ence and the lat­est results of your research in agrar­i­an econ­o­my and rur­al devel­op­ment domains relat­ed to:

- increas­ing the com­pet­i­tive­ness of the agri­cul­tur­al sec­tor and pro­mot­ing agri­cul­tur­al tech­nolo­gies and dig­i­tal­iza­tion;
- diver­si­fi­ca­tion of agri­cul­tur­al pro­duc­tion and cre­ation of val­ue chains for the devel­op­ment of a resilient and diver­si­fied agri­cul­tur­al sec­tor;
- sus­tain­able man­age­ment of nat­ur­al resources, con­ser­va­tion and con­sol­i­da­tion of agri­cul­tur­al ecosys­tems;
- the response of agri­cul­ture to the needs of soci­ety regard­ing food safe­ty and health; — sup­port­ing the tran­si­tion to a low-car­bon and cli­mate-resilient econ­o­my in the agri-food sec­tor;
- con­sol­i­dat­ing the socio-eco­nom­ic struc­ture of rur­al areas; — pro­duc­tion and use of ener­gy from renew­able sources;
- research — devel­op­ment — inno­va­tion in the field of tran­si­tion to bioe­con­o­my;
- recov­ery and resilience strate­gies;- align­ment of Mem­ber States with the strate­gies includ­ed in the Euro­pean Green Deal.
